ある 図書館が、閉館後の 建物を 「夜の 自習室」として 開放し はじめた。対象は 高校生と 大学生で、夜 十時まで 使える。
始めた きっかけは、試験前に 近くの ファストフード店で 勉強する 学生が 多いと 職員が 気づいた ことだ。飲食店では 長く いづらく、料金も かかる。図書館なら 静かで 無料だが、閉館が 早すぎた。
開放後、利用者は 予想を 上回った。ただし、夜間の 管理には 人手が 必要で、続けられるかは これからの 課題だと いう。
