むかしから 「時間は お金だ」と 言われる。時間を むだに せず、こうりつよく つかう ことは たしかに 大切だ。しかし、わたしは 最近、それだけでは 足りないと 感じるように なった。友だちと あても なく 町を 歩いたり、何も せずに そらを ながめたり する 時間は、こうりつから 見れば むだかもしれない。だが、そういう 時間こそ、心を 休め、新しい 考えを うむ ことが ある。いそがしい 毎日の 中で、あえて 「むだな 時間」を もつ こと。それが、かえって 人生を ゆたかに して くれる のではないだろうか。
