常識とは、その時代、その社会で多くの人が疑わずに受け入れている前提の集まりにすぎない。それは便利な道具ではあるが、けっして永遠の真理ではない。かつて常識であったことの多くが、今では誤りとされている。だからこそ、常識を頭から否定する必要はないが、ときにそれを疑ってみる態度が、思考を前へ進める。
