「自分らしく 生きる」という 言葉が、もてはやされて 久しい。自分の 意思を 大切に し、他人に ながされない 生き方は、たしかに 美しい。しかし、それが いきすぎると、「自分さえ よければ よい」という 考えに おちいる 危険が ある。人は 一人では 生きられない。私たちの 「自分らしさ」もまた、他者との かかわりの 中で こそ、形づくられ、みがかれて いく ものだ。真の 自立とは、他者を 切りすてる ことではなく、支え合い ながら、なお 自分を 見失わない ことなのではないだろうか。
