Dates 1 to 10 have their own readings: From 11 it is にち, with three exceptions.
Dates of the month (also "for … days", except the 1st)
Highlighted readings are the irregular ones.
How many?
The same words count days (for two days: ふつか), except one day, which is いちにち. The 1st of the month is ついたち.
(8th) sound alike and are a classic listening trap.
