〜とか

to ka · things like ~; I heard something like ~

〜とか lists examples casually (映画とか音楽とか) and also softens hearsay: 明日は雨だとか, I heard something about rain tomorrow.

How to form it

Noun + とか + Noun + とかりんごとかバナナとか
Plain form + とか行くとか言っていた

How it is used

It is the spoken version of や…など, and can list actions too: 「掃除するとか、料理するとか」.

As hearsay it is vague: 「田中さん、会社を辞めるとか」.
