〜として
to shite · as ~, in the role of ~
〜として gives the role or capacity: 留学生として日本に来た, I came to Japan as an exchange student.
How to form it

| Noun + としての + Noun | 親としての責任 |
How it is used
Before a noun it becomes としての: 「社会人としてのマナー」.
〜としては means for a …, as far as … goes: 「日本人としては背が高い」.

A junior high school changed its uniform to a design shared by boys and girls. Students choose freely among the jacket, trousers and skirt.
