か
ka · question marker; or
か at the end of a sentence turns it into a question. Between nouns it means or.
How to form it
| Sentence + か | 学生ですか。 |
| A + か + B | コーヒーか紅茶 |
How it is used
Polite questions keep the です or ます form and add か: 「行きますか。」 No question mark is needed in writing.
Between nouns か offers a choice: 「月曜日か火曜日に来てください」.
Examples
